My B&G was scared (don't worry the problem has been fixed) and as a result he tried to fly out the closed window! He was close to it so he didn't hit it too fast but I counted he lost about 9 feathers just over his eye and there's a small red spot. He doesn't seem to be in distress but I'd like to know if there's any sort of salve I can rub on it or some other trick to alleviate the pain I'm sure he's feeling! Atlas and I both thank you :)

Things like this are what make me a firm believer in wing clipping. One of my cockatiels got frightened while on my shoulder and flew straight into a wall breaking it's neck. So after that incident, all my birds wings get clipped and often.

I have blinds draw outside the window frame. So the blinds will slow down the bird's speed so that it can not crash hard in the window. Not good looking, but safe!

For the next couple of days make sure that your parrot have a quit and not so light room to sit in. (or take him to the vet)

It sounds like just an abrasion. You can clean/sterilize it with Betadine or Nolvasan solution and you can use a bit of Aloe on it each day until it fades.
