I have a 15 yr old B+G macaw. She had an amazon for a companion her whole life. Should I get another parrot or will she be ok as a single parrot. She is a bit territorial and jealous. What parrot species would be ok...a macaw or amazon or eclectus? Any ideas?

Sorry Tigger, not enough info for helpful advice here ...

a few questions need answers here ...

1) You have a 15 yr old B&G who HAD a companion her whole life ... well, why not now? Did you take her in as a rehome? Did you rehome the amazon? What's the story there?

2) How was your B&G around the other birds? Aggressive, territorial, and just how jealous is she?

3) What is YOUR experience level with large birds? All larger birds, I feel, take very experienced handlers/owners to train correctly ...

if you could answer these questions, and others that may arise, we will have a better chance of answering you with some decent advice ...

I hope that comment was in jest MALK.

Especially considering Tigger has been referring to his macaw as a "SHE" - even if he wanted them to mate, which is not likely a good idea, he would not need another female for that.
