What a gorgeous bird. I have yet to see one in person! Never seen one for sale, or at the zoo, or anywhere. What a beautiful creature.

That is the most intense blue I think any parrot has is the Hy blue! Absolutely gorgeous!

Zaf is a very beautiful parrot! What healthy beautiful feathers. Thank you for sharing your special cuddling time with your Zaf. I have learned to love my cuddle times with my RFM Valentino. I have found it truly a blessing when the parrot feels that relaxed with me to turn into a pile of mush. The trust is there and I am always in awe of it.
Antoinette...it was not the size of the beak that I noticed but the size of his TONGUE. Oh my that is one HUGE TONGUE. A part of me wonders if Zaf licks and probes on about with that giant tongue. My RFM Valentino uses his tongue to investigate and manipulate things a lot. He uses his tongue on my hands like a puppy. LOL.

Well, Hys carry a reputation for being gentle and loving sweethearts. But since I've never spent enough time around other Hys to determine their 'sweetheart factor levels' (if you will) when they're interacting with their human family members, I'm unable to say how other Hys typically compare to Zaf in that regard. All I know for certain is that to me Zaf is purely magical!

Thanks for the pics again Plax. Everybody take careful note of how big that head is next to his hand. It's not that he has a small hand. A Hy is a very big macaw. Here is a pic of Plax's backyard with the Hys wanting Zaf to come out and play (only kidding)
