Some of you have given me a ton of help and suggestions for the Scarlet at my store i work at. Today someone came in and saw me playing with him and bought him. They family is really nice and they own a restaurant so they are kinda wealthy. Hes def going to a better life than i would have been able to give him. The family is really excited and i know he will be treated right. It sounds pretty pansy but i cryed a little when he left. Im really glad you found a good home, i couldnt have done it with out you guys.

Thanks a bunch everyone, Ryan.

ill try not to be a stranger on the forums but i doubt ill be on as much, im convincing my boss to let us try and blue and gold so ill keep everyone updated. thanks again everyone

Sounds like you were instrumental in his ability to secure a good home. You changed his life and he changed yours. Sometimes an idea is planted like a seed in your mind that will flower later in life. Now might not have really been the best time for you to make such a commitment. But later it may be perfect timing.

I'm also sorry that he's gone, I enjoyed reading about your progress with him. You made a huge difference to this Macaws life, and I'm sure its the most bittersweet feeling you're going through right now :(

I agree that you're not a pansy, just goes to show how big a heart you have :)

Awww, I am very glad to hear the scarlet has a great family he is going to! :) I so understand how you feel about not getting to see him anymore. I have never worked in a pet shop~~My home is already one~~Or so it seems.;) But, I have loved many a critter, some that were not my own & didn't get to see anymore. :(

I personally believe that you alone are the reason the scarlet found a home. Through your diligent & gentle interactions with him he began to blossom. And if it hadn't been for that, I don't think he would have found a home for a long time.:D

It takes a special person, especially one who did not have prior experience, to take their time with a bird in hopes to make his life better. One they know they will not get to keep for their own.

I'd see if you can maintain contact with the family. If things don't work out, maybe you can adopt from them.

Good luck, and don't give up.

Followed your thread and you were really inspirational how you kept it up and persevered, working with the scarlet.

How great you were there to get him into such a nice place! You should feel like a proud parront :)!
