Clipped wings on B&G

Hi I'm new on this site and in need of some advice please, I have a B&G macaw and I've been told that a vet had clipped his wings but one side looks as though it was hacked at, I've only had him a week and I've sprayed him in a fine mist but he looks terrible, don't get me wrong he's a lovely bird and very loving towards me, I don't know whether he's moulting either or how long it will take for his feathers to grow back. I was told it was about October that he was clipped, any suggestions on how to get his ratty feathers looking nice would be really appreicated .

Hi Pauline.

Give Charlie frequent baths, and his feathers should become smoother. Also, a healthy, varied diet will improve feather condition.

If he was clipped in October, it may be a while until he regrows all his flight feathers.
