Monica put up a link in another thread for Frasier Products "For Birds that like to screw around" and I think this toy "might" be challenging enough for Valentino. It is almost 40 bucks though. Look at it. I think he would like it.

Play Box NRP, with cage hanger

I also like that the parts are non removable. They have a second box but I think I would be loosing the wingnuts on that thing.

What do you think. Check out the other toys. They are kind of expensive but they can't be destroyed.

Unfortunately the toy I want for Valentino is "out of stock". I emailed the company and am trying to find out if they will make more. I hope so because I really want to get one for Valentino.

What a great deal, Wendy!!!!

I remember someone else was thinking about making toys for the mechanically inclined parrot, however I don't recall if their business actually started up or not, and if it did, whether or not it's still in business. I know it wasn't Frasier, as Frasier is before my time of getting into birds!

Looking at that box taken apart, it does look kind of scary... as if a bird might accidentally get a part of them stuck inside the box. I think I'd like it better if the box didn't come apart! (never seen one apart before!)

BTW, those are double headed bolts... those have to be custom made and put together as the toy is being made! Unless you are a metal worker, not something most owners could probably do at home!

If anyone can direct me where I can get this toy for Valentino I would be grateful. I really think this toy would entertain him well. I think the edges look filed down enough they will not cut the bird. My only concern would be the corners but I think Valentino is big enough the corners will not be an issue.

Valentino takes apart everything. I am picking up his foraging wheels off the grate ALL THE TIME.

I have the same problems with both my macs, Rebecca. They both snap the back of all their foraging wheels, the 4-way drawers, RIGHT off. They get a kick out of disassembling EVERYTHING. I got so tired of putting everything back in order several times a day, that I now use fishing line to additionally tie up some of their toys that have those screw on thingies, so that they can't pull them down completely.

I got the link from the Frasier web site and they are out of stock. I had emailed them indicating my interest but will see if they are in the works of making more.

I hope they don't compromise on the quality with the next production of them. IF there is going to be more production of them.

If the toys were sent out to distributors I wonder where else I could get such a toy. I would need the version with does not come apart. They have the same toy that apparently does come apart.

OH CRAP! I just went to check out My Safe Bird Store and this is what I found on their site. I am really bummed out and hope that things are going to be alright with this family.

FRASIER PRODUCTS Parrot Toys by Frasier Products, Inc. Is a unique concept that features intriguing puzzles made of indestructible materials. The result: toys which will entertain your hook-bill bird for many hours to come.
Please note: Due to family illness, Frasier Products Toys are temporarily unavailable. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Frasier Family.

Thanks Wendy for the link. I found this link and I am hoping this is not too good to be true on the price. It is the cheapest I can find for it. It is expensive for me to keep buying him toys but he needs stimulation while in his cage.

Frasier Bird Toy Play Box NRP|Foraging|Stainless Steel

Does anyone know anything about this company? Would like to get some word on them before I send them any money.

Yes, that was the first link I gave you when you first posted about it. I've ordered things from them before and never had any problems. :)

Something is weird with the links because my link is from WingedVictory's Avian Mercantile cost is $31.99 and your link was from Avian Emporium Logo at $42.21

Either way the toy is expensive. Original price from the Frasier website which shows the toy out of stock is $37.50.

Maybe I can ask for the toy for Christmas. I am sure questions will be asked as to why would "I" want such a thing for Christmas. LOL.

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
Well that would be both of my macs, and my CAG!

But they already have something like that. They are called "cages."

These three disassemble them all the time. In fact, there are parts of Maggie's cage that have gone missing... (The treat cup door latches for example! Why would I want to go inside the cage to eat, when I can just take this part off and eat OUTSIDE the cage... got so tired of putting them back on only to hear them hit the floor again two seconds later, that I don't even bother.)

I have a friend that has a blue and gold who's favorite bird toy is a socket wrench! I kid you not. He made a peg board, put a bunch of bolts with lock washer's on it, and fastened it to the top of the cage, with a socket wrench on a chain.

The friggin' bird uses his beak to work the wrench. Almost looks like he's doing the regurg. dance when he's working the wrench!

Is there a big mac that isn't mechanical?
