Hi guys I'm looking for a foraging toy for my macaws. My Camelina and B&G are not hard to find toys for but my harlequin is strong and I can't find anything that is recommended for him that is long lasting . Any suggestions?

Caitec Tug N Slide Tower Bird Foraging Toy: Foraging Toys for Birds

I bought this for River. SO far she hasn't learned the "proper" function of pulling and tugging to get the toys. She prefers to try and stick her tongue through the top where you stick the treats through.
and she likes chewing on it. She hasn't managed to break it so far.

I got her one of the foraging balls but she's not very interested in it...

Hahahah Nightprowess, Fargo did the same thing, was sticking his tongue down the top at first ;)

Which foraging toys have you tried? Most of the strong acrylic ones are said to be indestructible :/

Fargo has only broken his 4 draw ones, because he likes to unscrew things, so he got the screws out that hold the boxes in place -_-

All the other types shouldn't be able to be broken!

Could also try just the stainless steal foraging cage?

Fargo has an acrylic foraging ball which he loves, but he learnt to snap it open.. So i have to actually tie the ball together, otherwise he just snaps it open, and everything falls out :p But the ball itself shouldn't be able to be destroyed, it is very strong! :)

Should be indestructible
Bird Foraging Toys: Caitec Wheel Foragers Bird Toy

Pretty sturdy and strong, aslong as they dont like messing around inside the boxes actually taking the screw out
Bird Foraging: Caitec Corp. Large Drawer Foraging Toy

He might be able to snap the keys on this one though
Foragewise Parrot's Treasure Bird Toy by Nature's Instinct: Foraging toys for pet birds

Very strong
Stainless Steel Foraging Cage Large - FORAGING TOYS by MY SAFE BIRD STORE

Strong acrylic, shouldn't be broken, just can be snapped open, hence i tie it shut
Buffet Ball Foraging Ball by Creative Foraging - FORAGING TOYS by MY SAFE BIRD STORE

Also strong acrylic
Zig Zag - FORAGING TOYS by MY SAFE BIRD STORE

Another good acrylic one.. Nice and sturdy
Snack Rack - Hanging Toys - My Parrot Shop - Parrot Toys and Parrot Supplies in Australia

They are a few that Fargo likes! There are the different wood type foraging ones, but they wouldn't last long with your boy! ;)

Another way to go is stainless steel.. These are in america also, but i don't think a macaw could destroy them! :) There are a few different kinds of these ones!

I make most own for my Mac. I do untreated blocks and drill holes to hide nuts in, stainless steel bucket with cover works good you can stuff paper, grass, twigs, foot toys, and boxes with treats in them. Also I twist treats up in rope for him to tear apart.

I've tried a plastic one but my harlequin keeps ripping it off the side of his cage. Best luck I've had has drilling out the center of branch. Filled it up with treats and let him work at it for a few weeks.

Hey guys thanks for the feedback. I did buy. The stainless steel cage one. I can put things in it. I'm going to check out the indestructible acrylic ones as I've had a acrylic bell for over a yr and they can't finish that one off lol :)

I got the stainless foraging cage, but I don't use it any more because it actually has rust on it. :(

That's actually the cheapest way to go.

I like the stainless cage too, for a big mac.

You mean there are macaws out there that DON'T like to unscrew things?! (or CAGs, or amazons) Mine don't leave screws, nuts or bolts alone. (4 out of my 5 are constantly taking their cages apart!) Honestly, Maggie treats her cage like a puzzle toy...
