Wow. That's some freakishly strong bite pressure. Scary what a beak like that could do to a finger.

Wow. That's some freakishly strong bite pressure. Scary what a beak like that could do to a finger.

Or anything else it got ahold of... IT DOES GET YOUR ATTENTION, DOESN'T IT?! I still think one of the big guys could easily break an arm bone if they put their mind to it the way this one does with the bars of his cage...

So powerful, and yet, so gentle and playful most of the time.

What do you think the odds of this particular bird being bite pressure trained is, and how much of a problem is that going to be if he throws a tantrum and decides he doesn't want to do something?!

Even "gentle giants" can get the upper hand and become difficult to control.

I have a cage very similar to this one, and I can't flex the bars of it like that, even with both hands.

Then again, I can't chomp a block of wood in half, and my greenwing does it effortlessly... AND SHE IS BITE PRESSURE TRAINED.

So, maybe I'm just reading more into this, and this cage is just a toy to be played with.

That is why a Hy has to be in a SS cage that has welds stronger than they are

EXACTLY! Normal cages will not stand up to that kind of bite pressure.

Kind of scary, but impressive at the same time.... I'm glad my galah isn't capable of that, I'd be scared she'd come and eat me in the night :D

I find myself instinctively curling up all my fingers and toes:D He or she is really making quick work of that cage! I find these birds to be a lot like children to me- wonderful and fun so long as they belong to someone else! Kiwi is more than enough 'bird' for me:p
