That is a priceless picture! "Get me outta here" is the expression on his face. Funny he hates baths, most macaws love them.

Hahn's macaw, RIP George, Jenday Conure
Hahnzel is finally getting accustomed to the shower. He's still not flapping his wings and "actively bathing". But he's talking to me while I get him with the detachable shower nozzle. Keep at it, let him see you being okay in the shower and it might get better.

I just had a thought that made me think of this post, it might be an idea to try with Zippy if he is food motivated!

Why not try getting a big, wide bowl, heavy enough that he can perch on, and fill it 2 inches with water, and float buoyant fruit on the surface? Like apples, cranberries, blueberries, whatever! I was thinking of kids bobbing for apples. I know his beak is more adept at picking stuff like that out of water but I thought it might be a fun way to get him used to dipping his face and chest in the water for a reward?

Might not work but could be worth a try!!

could also try putting heavier fruit in there that will settle on the bottom so he has to get his face wet to reach it. I just tried this with Sootie and she's having a great time bobbing for blueberries...then again she does love bathtime already!

HELP! HELP! MY PERSON HAS GONE MAD! SHE'S TRYING TO DROWN ME...!!!

That would be my CAG'S reaction to the shower...

See, now, I have the opposite problem with my big macs. I actually have to turn the water off on them. And my RFM is such a water bird that I can't even run the sink to do dishes with out her seizing the opportunity to dive into the sink and play in the water... she gets in and rolls around in there. I have to let her play before I can use the soap, or she'll dive into soapy water.
