can anybody tell me is there any difference between a blue and gold macaw. I've been hearing a lot of different stories the Bears differences but I can't tell.some say the personalities are different. Some say ones better talker. any help would be appreciated.

I think their spunkier .My female Catalina and Greenwing are more laid back.

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)

The male female thing doesn't make all that much of a difference with macaws, unless you get a particularly dominant male... and even then, it just requires a firm hand.
Amazons and Eckies, yeah. Not so much with macaws.

Love her as she is. i am not sure it makes a difference. Our Sunny is a DNA female Catalina. Plenty spunky! Huge vocabulary of two hundred words and phrases and we couldn't love her more. She had three other homes before us so that may play into her personality.
