Been spraying johnsons plume spray on her for the last 3 years and water, but i have noticed that she has dry skin and keeps itching. So i have been reading on the internet about it and i have been told to buy aloe vera juice 100% natural and buy some aloe vera gel 100% natural and that should help her,so i have bought them but i have been told i need to use distilled water because our water from the north east uk has pollutants, chemicals, toxins in it,and it not good for the bird when she gets a good spray, and i have no problems bathing her she loves it.

But i am finding it hard to find a water distiller?

I have found this one on ebay,do you think thats ok?

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
I don't use the aloe in water, I just put some aloe gel on my fingertips and give her a good rub on the neck where it's dry and itchy after bathing.

You really don't want to apply it to the feathers. You apply it to the skin.

I just use regular old tap water. Turn on the shower, and let her dance around in it.

What's the humidity in your house? Parrots tend to like it a little more on the humid side. Also, how much fresh produce is your bird eating? Dry skin tends to come from lack of moisture in their diet, or dry air.

Get some coconut oil, cold pressed type, the lower heat tolerance the better and rub a little on the feet. It acts as a lotion, great for birds and humans too. I know of people who use it as a hand lotion, facial moisturizer and even a little (just a little) on the hair as a conditioner.

Use that for baking, to grease the pan, or even frying though I have to admit when I made pancakes I preferred using butter.
