I got to see my baaaaby yesterday. I can't believe how much bigger s/he looks already.. and so many more feathers. Starting to get some yellow ones right along the edge of his cheeks.

His little wing feathers are really starting to come in, too!

And no, I'm not wearing pink leopard leggings -- this picture is my daughter. 11-year-olds pull those off better.

I also got a cute little video of him mouthing my daughter's fingers.

And one of my petting him to help him fall asleep, but then someone rings the doorbell and he wakes up. He really likes having the skin of his cheeks stroked (and I love doing it, it is so soft!!). I hope he always wants me to do that.

He's so cute that I can't stand it! I didn't think to get a picture of his older sibling.. but it is amazing the difference! His sibling was able to stay with the parents for the first few weeks but mine needed to be pulled, and his sibling (four days older) looks sooooo much older. I never would have guessed what a difference it would make.

The breeder put her pictures from the weekend up on her website, so I thought I'd share.

First, she got a few pictures of my baby's sibling (who is four days older and was able to stay with his parents for a few weeks). I thought the comparison was interesting between how much different they look!

Then she had a cute one of him totally passed out in my arms.

And one with him actually awake, with me and the kids.

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
All these new baby big macs around here! That is a large baby scarlet too, by the way!

Maggie likes having her facial skin stroked too, by the way. It's something that I don't think they grow out of as they get older.

I'm glad your birds like it! I could spend hours stroking his little baby face (come to think of it.. I did spend hours doing it :p).

And thanks Terry! We're all over the moon. Hubby didn't get to go last weekend because he got called in to work and he's positively dying for his chance.

That's probably a good thing, cuz you're gonna be doing this for awhile. So you might as well get used to it! (Well, that and the macaw tongue probing... )

That's a first thing in the morning, and last thing at bedtime around here. Maggie loves her head and face rubs...
