Hi All just a quick update on Oscar our 11 year old Harlequin macaw that we adopted just over a month ago.
He was on ZuPreemĀ® FruitBlend which I am personally not a fan of but that's just my choice. So after a month of perseverance we have successfully changed him over to Tops Organics, which is what we have all our other birds on.
He is still the biggest mooch of a bird I have ever seen for human food which is a bit of a problem as he doesn't discriminate over what human food he eats.
He still won't touch vegetables but will try a bit of apple now and again but we are still working on the fresh side of his diet.
We have watched him go over to our Amazons cage and work the food bowl latch from the outside to get to his food, even though he has exactly the same thing in his own cage. He is proving to be a bit of a clown.
We are also very please at the way he has accepted his new home, he loves all the attention seem to have adjusted perfectly.

Tesla, Oscar sounds like a wonderful addition to your family. Very nice that he is adjusting so well and so quickly. I'm glad Oscar agreed to the change to organic pellets. Keep offering the veggies, it may take a while but oscar will probably come around. You could pretend the veggies are yours and you don't want to share.
