First Vet Visit?

I am thinking about taking Kyleigh to her first vet visit. She is 10 weeks today. The last week she hasn't been wanting her formula in the morning nor evening. She weighed in at 1050g last week and 965 yesterday. She is eating some whole foods, but not too much. That weight isnt too much of a drop, but for some reason I am concerned. She could be fledging which I am very aware of, but I kind of want to play it safe. The feeder is leaving the decision to me, but she said she would rather play it safe than sorry as well. I suck at listening to Google because it has my mind in a frenzy. I read that yeast infections in baby birds isnt uncommon. I have been following this site here Blue & Gold Macaw Growth Rate Documentation and Photos From Hatch to Flight... and this bird got a yeast infection not too much older than Ky.

Am I being a bit paranoid here?

Sounds about right to me!

I'm a little nervous about the drop in weight..Or should I not be? Should I worry about psychological harm for her this young at the vet?

Gator is almost 12 weeks old and he done the same thing around the same time...he is ready to fledge, he has lifted up a couple of times and went about 5ft. I dropped him to two feedings, and sometimes he will only eat around half of each feeding. This morning, I made formula a little runny because I wanted to make sure he wasn't getting dehydrated, and I was amazed...he took 130 cc's this morning and tonight he took around 70cc's..
He has also been munching on pellets, fruits and veg's everyday too.

Is she eating pellets, fruits, and veg's?

Thanks so much. She is eating pellets, fruits, and veg..but not no where near enough to survive. I'm thinking she is getting ready to fledge as well. I'm gonna ask the feeder about adding more water to the formula. She is so great, and knows what she is doing...but I get a little scared and paranoid about things. Part of my personality I guess.

She is your baby, you should....
I was worried about Gator, but he is doing fine...weight has dropped some but nothing to be overly concerned --he is about to fledge. The funny thing is, I can feed his formula to him and he is not interested in it...but I go back to him about 30 minutes later and hand feed him some soaked pellets and I always get a couple in. He also loves bananas, so I mush them and he eats them in no time. I found that he can't turn them down!!
I guess it's going to be his favorite and of course sweet potatoes.

I took Gator to Vet at 6 weeks old and had a full checkup down!!! The Avian Vet here is awesome, I have used her for years. She was impressed Gator and how big his was going to be... He is a big boy!!!!

Sometimes it's better to ease our minds, as we are parents...lol

I was very worried and paranoid about Baxter when I first brought him home (as many members here witnessed). Like you, it is my nature to be overly cautious so I understand where you are coming from. Add to that the fact that I had recently lost Taylor to PDD - recipe for complete paranoia!

I found what helped to ease my mind with Baxter was to simply call the vet to discuss my concerns with her (when he was doing his wing tic that seemed odd to me, when he had very watery poop for a day). I felt that if what I was describing was worrisome to her, she would tell me to bring Baxter in. Or, in the case of the watery poop, she told me to keep an eye in it and to bring him in if it continued more than two days.

I'm not sure if this suggestion is helpful to you, but I just wanted to share with you what I did to help put my mind at ease when I was having my paranoid parront moments.
