Toxic or not?

I am trying to build a playstand/gym for my mcaw and i have been reading articles that have what is safe wood and whats not.The problem im having is one says Birch is toxic and some say just take bark off?The wood i have is Birch and russian olive.I cant even find Russian olive on any list.Can anyone help me to find out if these are safe?....thanks...kevin

As you can see on the link Russian olive is a SAFE wood.

Birch is Betula species. LEAVES & BARK contain salicylates and a few substances ... . The low concentration ... Birch should be considered safe for natural wood perches. The seeds inside the cones are a special goodie safe for birds to eat.

That said, I don't think I am brave enough to give that to my parrot. I am too much of a worry wart, I'd rather be safe than sorry. LOL
