I have a male 17yr old Orange Wing Amazon named Mr. Precious & a 15yr old female Harlequin Macaw named Merlin & a 3 year old male GW named Rocco.
I have 2 macaws & an Amazon. My macaws probably spend 2 hrs a week in their cages. I live in a very small home. Is it nuts to consider getting rid of my giant macaw cages to replace with med cages if they spend 20/7 on their giant java tree? I want to downsizing. to much smaller cages for them to eat/drink out of & allowing much more space for alk my java trees. Any thoughts or advice?:red:

Sounds like you might as well bird proof the room and "toss" the cages entirely. (figuratively speaking)

If the room is safe and they have plenty of toys, food and water, then they might not "need" a cage. If they destroy their room though, that could be an issue...
