I rescue and have just gotten my second macaw. This one a B&G...she is severely plucked. Usually when new rescues come they sleep a lot. I got Charlie on Saturday. Today after breakfast she went back to bed. I'd expect this with dogs and cats but not sure if I should with parrots. Should I be worried?

If you haven't taken her for a checkup to your Avian Vet, I highly suggest doing so. They'll be able to determine if she has any health issues. Congrats on rescuing!! She may just still be settling in (it's only been what, 3-4 days) and getting on your schedule. Does she pluck at all, still?

She just had blood work done and was given the okay...so far I haven't seen her pluck. She was severely abused and was still facing triggers in the place after that...now she is here without triggers and seems so happy. She is awake now and has given me kisses. She is being weaned off Haldol too...went from 1 and a half to one will be a week on friday...its dissolved in her water...its a slow process but should be off in a few weeks. Thanks for your response :)
