Macaw has a weak mouth

Recently I've purchased a macaw that's been fed seeds its whole life (he's about
8yrs old) and now I'm trying to feed him fruits and bigger nuts and fruits and
He's not able to crush it in his mouth..

What should I do?

Chop the fruit into smaller, bite size pieces. Get a nutcracker to help him out

If you've recently acquired him, a wellness checkup with a certified avian vet should be in the cards next! Just to ensure he is healthy and doesn't have any problems keeping him from eating.

Strongly agree with my good friend above!

A healthy MAC should be able to crack or crush near any bone in a Human's hand!

Please make a 'New' Parrot appointment with a CAV - ASAP!

I crack all the nuts for my macs. I think they are lazy or they don't know what to do with them at first. I got into the habit and now I just do it.

Agree with all of the above! You'll want to rule out any physical illness or impediment to proper use of that strong beak.

Transitioning to a diet rich in vegetables and fruits will be beneficial in any case! Macaws require a bit more fat than other parrots, and almonds/walnuts in the shell are a welcome treat.
