Say hello to Jacob my new military macaw.

Here's Jacob with Trudi (please ignore the surprised looking person in the middle :14: )

He is from '13 and has lived his life until now at the breeders in an aviary.

And from the same breeder I got a breeding pair of Illiger's macaws. Unfortunately I don't have any good pictures of them, as I want to give them time to settle in in their new aviary. Photos will follow, once I have some

Of all the macaw species, I have always been most taken by the military macaws. They are gorgeous birds! How lucky for both of you to have found each other:)

Just how many more parrots are you intendin on getting?

I have given up my chicken breeding programme to make place for parrots instead. I am therefore purchasing to make breeding pairs of parrots instead.

I now have a pair of B&G, Scarlets, Illigers and Eclectus.

I am planning on getting red-bellied and greenwing macaws and a mate for Jacob. And a mate for my Rainbow lorikeet.

If I find a pair of lutino IRN's, I will probably also get those. And also Crimson and Eastern rosella.

At the end I should have GW, BG, Scarlet, Military, Eclectus, Red-bellied, Illigers, IRN, Rainbow lorikeets and Crimson and Eastern Rosellas.

I am pretty lucky to have a working relationship with a bird park here in Denmark, so it has not taken long to find apropriate pairs, as they know everybody. In exchange I help out at the bird park :)

I have due to an accident have to give up horse training. Working with parrots makes me feel like the same as when I was still able to compete. And it seems macaws like me. I get untamed macaws and pretty soon, they are mushy pods.

Sorry, the question had to be asked.

No problem. It just didn't make sense to me to be breeding chickens, when my interest is with the parrots. I already have 8 aviaries, so I am just swithing the content :) Oh and adding a lot of branches and the like. Chickens mainly use the ground.
