mine does it too, he kinda flings himself over in my arms, i just tickle his tummy til he has enough and turns over again. there some cute videos on you tube of other macaws doing it too! i've started saying 'roll over' when he does it so he could do it on command...maybe!

beau grinds his beak quite loudly when he's dozing off to sleep, sounds like he's trying to break it off!

Some macaw species never really out-grow this behavior. Our 14 month old RFM rolls on her back all the time and will even fall asleep that way sometimes.

RFM are so famous for doing this into adult years! I love them!

In a previous post, where the pet shops was in a terrible state, they have a Macaw Elvis, who still rolls over and sleeps on his back, he is 7 years old. Elvis has the most wonderful personality and character. :green:
Visited there yesterday the pet shop is still keeping their word and keeping the cages clean, feeding and caring for the birds correctly

just had to add this photo of beau and a quick question. when he's dozing off to sleep on someones lap he puts his foot by his face and strokes his cheek, (see pic)! reminds me of a baby sucking their thumb. any one else have a bird that does this? :D

Jade still does that. Actually she nibbles on her leg band. That's when we know she's ready for bed.
