My girl is paranoid in the morning holding her wings back and clinched shacking for a half hour too an hr. I just bought her a beautiful big cage and in the morning she will scrunch herself up in the top corner shaking and squawking like crazy. I can get her out of the cage know problem, I put her on her perch and she will still shake. Then out of the blue she stops what could this be abuse from the previous owner?
I also want too add in the week I've had her feeding her proper food and giving her lots of lovin her colors are getting so vibrant she doesn't look like the same bird I brought home just a little over a week ago.

Her name is Ruby they say she is ten I say she's younger but her beak is very big and well developed. The people who sold her too the bird store said she was vicious toward everyone. Since I saw her at the store she came right out of the cage too me and my 8 year old son she is a special bird awesome personality best bird I've ever had besides the shaking and squeaking in the morning.

Do you just carry on the same and let Ruby sort herself out eventually?

Just as a aside do you socialise her as much as poss?

sounds like she was abused and kept in a very small cage. The fear could be related to her being scared by the new cage, try showing her it's okay, she seems to find you comforting. What you may find is that when she did the morning shout was when the abuse would happen so she's doing her instinctual behavior but scared someone will hurt her. Just give her time, let her learn you're not going to hurt her and hopefully she'll be okay

Yes I just tell her it's okay no one is going to hurt you any more and let her sort it out and once I'm in the room with all my birds she calms down. As far as socializing I'm retired all my birds are spoiled with attention. Ruby is the newest and friendliest of my flock so she gets more attention because she lets anyone hold her. I believe it's a terrible habit she picked up from being locked up all the time, while now all the cages get opened up at 6:00 am and stay that way till bed time at 9:00 pm she is free now.

Do you think it might be something to do with the fact she isnt locked up? The shaking from before and the noise from not being locked up and enjoying it?

"Hey I'm free, look at me"

Be interesting what happens over time?

good thought! It may be that

Of course it could be to do with being uncomfortable with the door being open as her entire world was in the cage for a long time.

You got any pictures of your flock? I want to sit and be jealous of you!

that's what I think. Possibly waking up and thinking she's back to the neglect, not realizing you're here to stay no matter what
