Hi everyone! I'm new here.

Just posting to get more idea's and extra advice on macaws specifically as this will be my first 😍

I'm fairly well experienced with parrot's of all sizes ranging from conures ringnecks eclectus to cockatoos mostly handraising them more so than owning all of them .
So rest assured I'm not a novice.

I currently own a galah and an eclectus pair ( just on a year now and I raised them from 5 and 8 weeks of age together )

Now I'm looking specifically for advice on bringing this girl home and idea's of activities to gain trust etc. More specific to macaws ..... as I know different breeds of parrots will appreciate different thing's and different activities especially such thing's like rough play in comparison to smaller parrots.

She is 13 weeks old today , and won't be coming home till next wednesday ( currently friday today)

She is Dna sexed a girl , so "she" isnt a guess.

Her breeder is also my neighbor, and at 75 yrs old with 40plus years experience with an extensive amount of parrots he is a wealth of knowledge, and has also known me for years and has always offered support and advice with babies I've raised myself so he does know she is going to an experienced and passionate bird lover.

And I think I have a name picked... We're thinking Amethyst. .. Am-ey for short. And I'm quite sure we're set on the name

Anyway thank you in advance for any advice , it's not as easy to seek out people locally here in Australia (syd) who also have macaws so I love the idea that there are people from all over the world here to share their experiences and knowledge

Also upon reading some threads in here, I see people referring to reading the information in the MAC section, I'm not sure if it's different on my mobile browser but I'm not finding it. Can someone post a link please?

haha you'd find conures hilarious. They're just tiny macs on crack!
