i brought home some snow peas and some melon today (out of season here was lucky to find some) and he ate the pod of the peas and threw the peas all over and ate the melon, rind first, and then when he got to the good stuff tossed it too (right at the cat needless to say) poor bird only knew how to eat seeds, he's learning....he loves to shred brussel sprouts...enjoys green peppers and whole wheat pasta...some apples he likes...we are getting there....going to be a long road (but enjoyable)

He may not be as backwards as you might think, in some foods most of the nutrients are in the parts we humans find distasteful, ;)

Hahaha lol
o dear poor little salsa
maybe you should peg him upside down for a few hours see if his brain returns from where ever it's lost itself lol ( jokes )
what a sweetheart :)
I'm sure he'll keep learning and will be a melon muncher in no time

Perhaps add the good bits in really small bits in with him pellets so he accidently trys some and gets used to the taste

LOL hung him upside down for three hours and he's still the same :) JUST KIDDING.....the cats have been VERY put out since he's come into our life, poor things, they have it so rough don't they? I am having a hard time switching him to pellets as well, tried soaking in apple cider (his fave) and he tosses them....we'll get there (i hope)

Cute story. My Lovies have food phobias - of fresh foods. I haven't tried brussel sprouts. That might be entertaining for them since they love to shred.
