Hi everyone

So Today when I took my macaw outside of the cage so he can play
But suddenly he vomited/regurgitated not sure a white saliva like substance he didn’t want to eat before that. After what happened he ate. Is it normal
He is acting normally ,screaming , talking and normal feces

I leave him with my parents for about 4 months and come back for a month for 3 years
They are saying that it’s normal and happened many times before

So I don’t knowwhat to do
non of the symptoms of sickness is there

Should I worry

Sunny a female B&G macaw;
Japie (m) & Appie (f), both are congo african grey;
All are rescues- had to leave their previous homes for 'reasons', are still in contact with them :)
How much of the white stuf came out?

Was your macaw bobbing its head op-and-down very fast before he/she regurgitated? (like boxing in the air)

and of course: did it try to give you some?
(Did the bird put it on you or just random on the floor)

Just a few of the white stuff
But what not sure is whether he was bobbing his head or not
It was random on the floor and on me

He/She could be regurgitating for you..It's a birds way of showing affection.
The next time it happens,check to see if the "food" is a solid piece of "white".
That would be food. Regurgitating is a way parents feed its young. It also means you are his/her mate,the chosen one.

Mine regurgitates most seldom, maybe once every 2 weeks or so. I have no idea of what triggers him to try and feed me. even then he gets a wide variety of tree nuts when we are out walking around however when he gets in the mood sometimes, I let him vomit. Its whitish in color , he eats pistachio and cashew walnuts and almond, along with pine nuts every day while walking him

he hasnt thrown any snow up yet though.

I found it helpful to look at YouTube videos of birds regurgitating and then of birds vomiting. That made it much easier to tell the difference. I hope you baby is ok!
