Hey All,

I'm looking for a travel carrier for my Blue and Gold Macaw. I've been searching but none of the ones I've found seem big enough for her. Her tail is extremely long so I wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions.

The go to carrier for most folks is the Pak-O-Bird brand. I have one for my small Amazon, Salty. They are woithout doubt the best designed, most versatile, easiest to clean and well made ones anywhere. They are also the most expensive, but in my opinion worth every bit. They have one designed specifically for Macaws.

Yep they are expensive, but so well engineered and thought out. They litterally can be laid unzippered and flat for cleaning, have built in water/food cups, toy attachment clips, and are 100% chew proof on the inside. I've been to the factory to see mine being made ( in Brooklyn). For the record, I am not employed by them or have any connection to Celtie, just a very satisfied customer.

Islip! I've been there quite a few times.
That carrier is worth the money BTW (even though it's A LOT)

Big birds, everything that supports them are equally as big and expensive.

When it comes to the mid to bigger Mac's one needs to start with just how much room you have in the transport vehicle and determine what will fit in the available space. It is not that uncommon to find that your micro auto is smaller than what is needed to fit your Mac and you need to upsize your transport unit...

I fully agree with the use of the Pack-O-'Big Bird,' they are well designed and built. That said, it is not uncommon to be looking at good size dog sleeping cage /carrier. Especially if your Mac or Too of size loves to turn stuff in to bits -- your choices quickly come down to all metal dog sleeping cage!

We have an mid-large SUV because it easily supports our Amazon's needs, plus a bit of room for us and our smaller needs! :D
