I contacted them once about Sunny -who was 1000 grams at that time (just came to live here); so exactly in between sizes (the L and XL) and they told me: for comfort and training: go larger, if already used to aviator and comfortable with it and you want the extra-extra security-try the smaller option.
I went with "comfy" (because with her busted wings it is unlikely she will ever fly at all, so they are more a safetybelt anyway) and *she* went to gain 1/4 kilo extra weight by getting more active and building muscles!

So if your bird is not flighted yet... do not forget about the extra muscle-weight they will put on!
Shockingly even with the busted wings muscles of Randy the macaw, she can still fly at times, just not as nearly as high as my U2's

It says small for a BFA on their fitting guide, but you are saying the medium is too small for Amy! I'm confused as to which size I should go for.
I am SO SO SOOOO SORRY for such a late post!!!! I totally forgot about this thread! To answer your question,Amy has lost some weight. Right now he is at 517g's down from a hefty 548..the most he EVER weighed! ( I haven't tried to put it on him since he got "buff" lol
