Been here reading this forum for quite some time now but finally just decided to post so hi to all here. Thanks for all the interesting posts and wealth of info from experienced bird lovers.

My girlfriend and i have three babies with a fourth one on the way a male GWM named Huey, and we can't wait. Although i have been around macaws before it is our first macaw that we can call our own.

Welcome to the posting part...lol.... you get the good, bad, and the ugly from the postings. There's a few of us in here that have owned birds for many years and we try to help as much as possible. Ask away if you have any questions!!! :)

I see you are one of the regulars to help answer questions for others, thanks for the welcome and it's nice to know we can all learn from each other no matter how experienced we are or aren't. I am sure i will be having questions even though it seems i have been researching the GWM forever. Guess I am as impatient as every one else waiting on a new baby.

Researching is wonder before ever owning one, but with personal experience, your learning more then what you were told in the first place. I read about macaws, study, held them, etc for 8 years before ever owning one. 9 years for Cockatoo and 15 years for Eclectus. I take my time learning, I love all birds but these are some of my favorites. :)
