Hi and welcome to the forum....I have never owned an amazon but I hear they are very smart....I hope someone can come along and help you out....
Maybe if they had a little more information...
What kind of diet?
Does he have lots of toys for entertainment and foraging toys to help keep him busy and use up energy?
Does he only bite at certain times that you have noticed.....
Good luck and post a pic when you can...I would love to see your new family member.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I don't have alot of experience with amazons, but do know they are extremely intelligent birds and can easily learn words, tricks and proper behaviour. Good luck with your new addition.

Awww!! Arnt you happy. I have one amazon. A yellow crown
But iv handled and rehabilitated a few. There a very misunderstood species but going in blind to ownership could be completely tragic. There's a few "must know" issues you must know about amazon parrots. Though some species are overall more calm. All amazon parrots run through a nasty phase of hormones. It's natral and dims out as the year goes.
This is typically for younger zons. Ages 4-12. Usally older mature zons are quite the company if cared and payed attention too. Here's a few useful links on what to expect

The Amazon Parrots: Information and Photos

If all problems are expected then they can easily be avoided and a path to a wonderful intelligent pet is to be achieved.
One more. Attention is key. They thrive more attention then any parrot iv ever worked with or raised. Even babies require a bit more food and toys.
If boredom occurs you can find yourself a plucker or self mutilator. Or the most common with zons. --obesity-- this is a big issue for board zons. They'll eat and perch in a days work.

Lots of healthy foods
Lots and lots of toys
Out of cage play area
Big enough cage to stretch and play
TREATS. Amazons can hold grudges. Well not if a pretty peanut is in play lol
And you there to play with at leaste a few times a day.

Again congratulations to your new addition!!
Might I ask what kind of zon is he?? Please post pics :)
