Quaker parakeet, four cockatiels (two are fosters), two lovebirds
Hi!

My name is Samantha, and I have long been a parrot enthusiast. In my early youth, I had two little budgies that were kept as family birds, Bluebell and Key-lime, whom I grew to love dearly; I soon had a flock of my very own, and began to work at an avian rescue.

I adopted two cockatiels that were brothers by blood, one of which passed on of a respiratory infection that I couldn't catch fast enough. I rushed him to the vet, but it was too late for him. I am still recovering from this incident. Although I may have bought another bird to soothe his brother, and to soothe myself, nobody can ever replace him. He was truly an angel.

Sunshine is a crazy bird who loves nothing more than to sit and serenade me with his music. At the top of his lungs. In my ear. He's cute, cuddly, and loves to play peek-a-boo - he has quite a fabric fetish, and will sing and dance when he sees you handling any! He was a craigslist bird. That's who is in my avatar.

Bibi, his new brother, (yes, you read right - brother) is a very sweet bird who enjoys perching on my shoulder, my chest, or even my head, and nap. I call him the 'old man', because he loves his sleep, and he's a big sassy grump if he doesn't get it. He got his feminine name from his previous owners, who thought he was a girl. He answers to it, so I kept it. He loves to be snuggled and preened. I am also fostering two other nameless cockatiels at the moment.

I later adopted an adorable green Quaker parrot whom I named Happy, and he is full of personality, constantly talking, giggling, and chattering. He loves to chew and destroy things, though, so he definitely has me on my toes! He's lovable, cuddly, and always must be at the center of attention.

I also have two lovebirds, Jade and Aphrodite. Jade is rather independent, and doesn't particularly favor hands-on interaction, but her antics are a lot of fun to watch. She is a Fischer's Lovebird X Masked Lovebird cross, a hybrid that came as a suprise; I was told that I was buying a pure Fischer's when I adopted her, and she was still a featherless chick, so I couldn't see her peculiar markings until later on.

Aphrodite is a pied Peach-faced lovebird, the more clingy of the two Lovebirds. She was also adopted as a baby.

Aside from the parrots, I have a pair of finches and a chicken. Enough of the rambling, and hurry up with the pictures, right? ;) I promise, they're on the way!

Welcome to the forum burdbrain!

Chickens can be cuddly birds. I had one as a kid that I hand raised from the incubator, he turned out to be a huge rooster! He would let me pick him up, carry him around, and pet him no problem... well one problem, he wasn't so nice to my sister. He got after her one last time and when I came home from school he was chicken noodle soup. I refused to finish my dinner that night. Farm life can be rough :(
