2 Male Catalina Macaws~Roscoe & Angel, 1 Female Green Wing Macaw~Ruby Jewel, 1 Female Solomon Island Eclectus~Leyla Belle, 1 female Pineapple Green Cheek Conure~Peta, 8 Budgies
First I want to say Hi to everyone here. I am female, married for 34 1/2 yrs. I have one grown son & daughter-n-law who live in Alaska. I live about 60 miles north of Abilene, TX. My husband and I are both Correctional Officers at a maximum security prison unit, have been there for almost 7 yrs.

Now to my parrots. I have 2 Catalina hybrid Macaws. Roscoe & Angel are brothers and I wouldn't take for either of them. Roscoe is the love of my life in colorful feathers and Angel is my special needs boy. He was born with extra calcification in his leg joints which prevent him from being able to stand on a perch or my arm. One of his wings is affected also. He can climb with the best of them and he does enjoy life to the fullest.

I also have a female Solomon Island Eclectus named Leyla Belle La Rue Longhorn. Her name is rather long cause my very good friend in New York who loves anything southern helped with naming her. Leyla Belle is definitely the Diva of my flock. She is very opinionated and if she doesn't like something I'm doing or something I give her to eat, she will let me know. She can be a total sweetheart too & I love her gorgeous colors.

Then I have a female Pineapple Green Cheek Conure. He name is Peta Conchita Bonita. She is a really sweet little girl. I acquired her through a friend of a friend of a friend type thing. Peta's previous owner had gone through a divorce, and then had to take on extra work to get by. She no longer had the time to spend with Peta and I took her in. I have not regretted doing so one least bit. She is a joy to have in my flock.

And I have 8 parakeets (budgies). They are all in a large flight cage together and are the sweet singers of my flock. Their little sing songs are a pleasure to listen to. There is Spirit, Shadow, Sky Bird, Feathers, Cherokee II, Sapphire, Shimmer, & Sunny.

That's about all for now. I will be getting some pics of each one of my fiddies up here in a short while. Thanks for having me as part of your flock.:)

Thanks everyone for the welcomes. I do feel at home already & part of the flock.

I am enjoying reading & looking at all the gorgeous parrots everybody has. And what I love too is that there are many countries recognized here with members. That's Awesome!!

Abby 2 year old Female Eclectus & Solomon 12 year old Male CAG & Dickens 4 year old CAG.
:)Welcome from another Texan. I am on the west side of Fort Worth,
Great flock you have there...I know what you mean about Leyla Belle being a Diva, my Abby is the same way... where Solomon (my Grey) is laid back and loving.

Your macaw is beautiful. I saw an 4 month old female B&G at the Ft. Worth Bird show last month that I fell in love with... that will probably be my next addition to the flock.

This is a great forum and we love pics more pics and more pics

BTW did I mention we like PICS...

Thanks. My oldest sister lives in Irving, has for over 40 yrs. She doesn't keep birds or any kind of animals for that matter, not sure where Mom picked her up at.

Those little girl ekkies are something else for sure. I have wanted to go to the bird show, but I am always having to work on the weekend it is being put on. I was wanting to find a GW, but now I don't need to look. I am on a waiting list for one next hatch season from a breeder in So. Texas.

If I were to go to a bird show, I'd want one of everything. Good thing I'm not rich, I could go over the top in a hurry! I do love my macaws. I always loved their looks way before getting my boys. And now they are my most fav. parrot, but I do love my other fiddies just as much.

I agree on the female eckies... Abby will always be very special to me as she was my 1st parrot.
I adopted Solomon back in June.. he is 11 and was cage bound for about 4 years... not mistreated just did not get any attention..
he is a sweetheart...loves to have his head scratched and under his wings.
He has never bitten me, he only plays and wants me to rub his beak...
He does not talk (just hello) but he mimics every other sound he hears and he loves to whistle... when I say I love you he does the wolf whistle...

Welcome again... and enjoy.
