Bird-bird, cockatiel and Dexter, a yellowside gcc
I came here to find advice on birds and Christmas trees and birds, but I found it already and saw how friendly and welcoming everyone here is.

My husband used to have his own rescue from his early teenage years until he went into the army. His mom then sold all of his rescues and personal birds for money.

He expressed interest in rescue again, but my other rescues have taken over the house (two dogs, three cats, my cichlid tank, his two saltwater tanks, the rescue beardie, and the two tweeters.) Needless to say, I only have room for one more large cage.

Dexter is a 6 month old yellowside green cheek conure. He's very quiet, but kind of a brat. He's still a little nippy, but getting better.

Bird bird (creative, I know) is a female cockatiel who prefers not to be petted or out of her cage unless it's to get her neck scratched, and when she's done with that, it's back to her cage.

Welcome to the forum. How interesting that your husband had a rescue as a teenager. GCCs are very sweet little birds. They can be nippy when they want to be, but Dexter should grow out of most of it when he matures. They are fearless tho. My GCC thinks she can take on my macaws sometimes when she decides to fly to their cage.

I look forward to hearing more about your little darlings.
