Hello every body my name Stephen!

I've always wanted a parrot since i was a child i've always been fascinated by them!

After a good bit of research on which parrot to get I finally got one just over a month ago!

I have a black headed caique his name is marvin

im only assuming its a male i havent got him sexed!

for such a small parrot he's got the mentality of a macaw of somethin he isnt afraid of nothin

he's so funny and is adored by everybody in my house even though at the start when i brought him home no one would talk to me hahaha

anyways lookin forward to hearing from you all!

here's a little video of marvin :D

Welcome,

Caiques are awesome, if I ever get another bird they're on my short list.

Cute video... looks like an 'adult' bird film toward the end - he likes his ball.

Not likely, but it might make him go blind! (kidding)

Birds can 'bond' to one object which they can then sometimes violently defend. So if he takes to much of a liking to a ball, or a certain toy, exclusively then it might be a problem at some point. But if he's just a happy bird.... No harm no fowl (yes yes, very bad bird pun.)

hahahaha imagine!

i have noticed that actually with food and toys he'll scream at me if my fingers get to close to him but he wouldn't scream at me if i put my face near him when he's either playing/eating a treat!

Wow, very playful!
If I had a little bit more time and money, a Caique would be awesome to get! I played with one at the parrot place, they certainly are little clowns!
Cool video & welcome!

Lucky!
I can go SEE one at any time, but not hold... well I guess I can if I asked the guy... but I don't know him well, just see him when I'm there.
I'd almost be kinda scared holding one; hoping he won';t mistake my ear for a toy!
:)
They look real nice though, especially in your picture from the other thread... looks like he's falling asleep!
