Hi all!
I'm new to this forum and have done some lurking and so far you all seem really nice and very helpful!
Thought I should introduce myself.
I'm a student studying Marine Biology and loving it. I'm creative and paint and have always been obsessed with animals.
I have 5 horses and Show jump competitively every weekend around the country.
I used to own a Maroon Bellied Conure named Rio whom I had since I was about 7 and for many years after. I loved him to bits until a couple of years ago I went away for the weekend with mum to Australia and he flew out the door and off into the bush (We live in New Zealand). I was absolutely heart-broken when I came home and didn't get another bird until early this year when I 'rescued' a hybrid lovebird from a little pet shop down south. She was really cool but brought up an aviary bird and never was quite comfortable being just with me so a breeder took her as a mate for a current lovebird she had and they have been inseparable ever since. Whilst I was dropping her off I met all her lovely birds including a CAG chick and it was love at first sight. 6 months later and she came home with me last Monday and we have been best friends since.

She is is a large parrot cage with a play-top which she only uses to sleep in and the door is always kept open when we are in. She is in the living room/ kitchen area so gets to see so much around her.
She has started picking up loads of words already and today regurgitated for me so I guess she loves me :p

I'll get some pictures of her soon.
