new baby green cheek any training tips

hi my name is danielle and im the proud mommy of a nearly 2 yr old female cockatiel . she is an absolute diva lol. i decided to get a 2nd bird.... on fri i will be bringing home a newly weaned male baby yellow sided green cheek conure!!! any advice / tips would be greatly appreciated. specifically i want to start training early... i know step up / down is very important... but any tips on curbing nippiness & proper socializing?

I have a 6 month old GCC and I started training him the first month I got him! I got Paco when he was about 3 months and his first trick was to step up. Handle him/her and get the bird used to you and gain trust. First find out his favorite snack/treat! Then start by saying a que word following this action. Even if he dosen't do it but shows some sign of interest give him the treat! And eventually, he'll learn that's if he does something good he'll get a treat! My conure LOVES dried chili peppers & bananas! Conures love rewarding their owners as well. My GCC will preen my eyebrows and give me kisses! Conures are such clowns, you are guaranteed to have tons of fun with your conure Have fun and a good idea is to take an old t-shirt and sow buttons, bells, plastic straws and any little things birds are attracted to and throw it on and let your bird play on you with the shirt on. Yeah Paco LOVES it! He'll play for hours and then come up and kisses me every so often Have you got a name for your new feathered friend yet?

i named her zoey not sure of sex but her personality is totally a girl
