Yellow-sided green cheek conure
Hi Everyone,

I'm here hoping to learn more about keeping a green cheek. A couple days ago, I was outside in the back yard and one landed on me. I fed it some crackers and since then it has followed me everywhere. I assume it must be someone's pet as it is clearly used to being hand held, so I took it in and posted some signs up around the neighborhood hoping to find the bird's owner. I'm not experienced at all as a bird owner so I am hesitant to take him in for good, but I have to say, I never knew a bird could have so much personality. He's quite a charmer.

Welcome to the forum. Hope you have found the owner but if not try calling any local vets, pet stores, animal control, to see if someone reported loosing the bird also your lost and found section of your paper, and the local craigslist pet section. Alot of people will try to contact all these sites to find a lost bird. In the meantime they need fresh water availabal all day. You can get a cockateil mix at a pet store and also a little dish of any thawed frozen veggie mix and or raw carrots , corn, broccoli cooked plain pasta, any cooked whole grains little tastes of anything you eat that is low in salt or fat. No avacado, chocolate, alcohol,or caffine. They also like little bits of fruit. Feel free to ask any questions:)
