Hi all,
Hope you guys are doing well!
As the title says my female parrot has started to develop brown/ black colour on the end of its feathers, mainly in wings and back. And starting to develop all over her body. She is still healthy and active.
The parrot was adopted and has been with me for 1 year now. The parrot was given seed mixes until I took it to a vet 3 months ago and from then on is given harissons bird food.

When taken to vet last month, I was told to give "booster dietary supplement" to see whether that would help cure the colour change. So far no good!

When spoken to vet, he has recommended to complete the course and then do a blood test to see whether the disease can be linked to any liver or virus issues..

Please help if anyone have any previous experience.

Thank you in advance..

I would get a blood test done just as your vet suggested.
Do you bath her? Also does she get much sun rays? As those can also effort a parrots feather condition.
By the way she is an alexandrine, A very beautiful one :D

Well the only other thing is black on feathers can be stress baring. Not saying this is the case but it could be something to look at. I'd go with your vet and just be safe as it could detect something that would save his or her life:)
