Hi,
I would like to introduce myself, and my feathered best friend, his name is Hubby. And he is a green, red, and orange peachface lovebird. I am very experienced with taking care of these birds, because I have a great love for lovebirds. I have owned about 6 lovebirds since I was 7 years old. And I could tell you that each and every single one is very unique and they do have quite a lot of personality for such little creatures. Each lovebird I have owned has changed my life, and my birds were always there for me. I can't get enough of lovebirds!!! I sometimes get a little upset, when people categorize birds and fish together, because birds are much cooler than fish, and they are relatives to the dinosaurs-which makes them even more awesome.:22:
So yeah, I have searched the forum with other owners talking about a swollen toe on their birds, and I think I might have a similar problem with Hubby right now, I have left him in care of my BF's dad, and he left Hubby alone outside and unattended. I think he was attacked by another bird (poor thing!!) and now he has 2 bald spots, one on his wing, and another on his head, there is some dry blood on his feathers on his head. And now he has a swollen foot, that has a clear bubble where his ankle and toes come together. He is eating well, and his poo is a good color and substance, but he is just sleepy though. Wish me luck as I will take him to the vet tomorrow.
