I am SO sorry for your loss. :( What type of parrot was he?

Did you say he was only 1 month old? Was he still being fed by you?

Please give us as much information as you can. We are no vets, we can only take our best guesses.

Again, I'm sorry for your loss.

he was a indian ring neck. he was fed by me. he was absolutely fine. used to chirp a lot. but suddenly due to the excessive heat waves and climate of india he was not eating proparly for few days. but still he was lively. yesterday he started vomiting from the afternoon. at night he didnt take anything. in the morning today at 5.30am he chirped for a while. i woke up just to feed him within a minute. when i went to him and switched on the light i saw he is dead. i cant take it.:green2:

Again, I'm so sorry. I can see how upset and sad you are. :(

HOW were you feeding your baby ring neck? With a spoon, syringe?? How much did you feed him, and what did you feed him?

SO many things can go wrong when they are such wee small babies.

I am so sorry to hear such sad news :(

given the high temperatures in your country it could have been a factor.
birds, especially babies cannot tolerate hot temperatures, bacteria also could be a factor.

When I hand feed my babies, everything is sterile, and every precaution is taken to make sure nothing is contaminated. I've lost a few babies and it is heartbreaking.

i used to feed him with syringe. at first i tried him with cerelac. but as he was not having his toilet properly i just switched to gram flour paste. the consistency used to be like tomato creamy soup. he was ok. he grew up. i dont know what went wrong. and he died. do help me

I'm sorry, but none of us will know with certainty what happened to your baby. :( We can only guess, but that won't help you in the long run, as you should really take your baby to an avian (bird) vet (doctor) who would have to examine him.

Unfortunately there is really nothing we can do....I understand your pain, trust me I do!

think back to everything you did, and possibly when this may have started.ie: noticing he just wasn't quite right.
It may have not been anything you did, he may have been destined to live a short life, due to an underlying condition you may not have been aware of.

Accept what is, grieve for him and then try and let it go as best as you can in your own time
sometimes it takes me weeks to get over one of my birds passing, and other times it was just meant to be, which is easier to accept.

I hope this helps, and I do feel for you.

hi tanya.
sorry for the terrible loss. its so sad that i knw u wud b heartbroken
i am too from india delhi and i too have 1 mnth old alexendrine parrot.
i also tried cerelac bt its harmful for the bird. evn if u feed him that buy a non-milk containing one.
and dnt give gram floor may b it wl cause block intestine and he would then vomit out everythng.
as handfeed formula is nt available here so i give my baby mashed banana mixed with some apple juice., mashed grapes and chana dal soaked for 2 hrs and then making small pieces of it and feeding 1 by 1.
n make sure evrythng is at room temp. and u have to keep a watch of its poop. he shld poop at intervals and it shld nt be too dry.
so nxt tym u bring a baby so ypung kp evrythng in mind. they are very sensitive.
