Hi all,
My name is Elena. I found your forum and just had to get connected. A little about us. My husband Jeremy and I have four birds in our personal flock - 2 eclectus (Beaker and Rosie), an African Red-Bellied (AR-B) and a cockatiel (Max). We also have dogs, cats, and the occasional deer or elk that come by. We live in Washington State in the foothills of Mt. Rainier (14,410 ft of majesty).

We are passionate about parrots AND making the connection between people and parrots. We specialize in hand-raising and socializing baby parrots in our home for WA state customers and we offer them an alternative to the typical pet or bird store buying experience.

I must confess. It is the most amazing thing to me - you can hold a dog or cat and in your mind it is normal.. BUT when you hold a parrot, something happens; it doesn't feel normal to me... it is very special - almost magical! And, because I fall in love with all the birdies I hold so, we decided to hand-raise baby parrots for others and offer a free service to help people match the right parrot to their personality and lifestyle, with our goal of making a 'forever' match to help break the cycle of a 'rescue' situation. At any rate, we are having a blast and enjoy taking the babies in our nursery through the fledging and weaning process.

Well - I have definitely said enough for now. I look forward to contributing to the stimulating discussions on the forum.

We're glad to have you. We do have a few other breeders on here as well but we far more often have new owners with baby parrots with lots of questions. It's good to have people experienced in weening and early life to help out.

Thanks so much... I'm excited to lend my expertise and participate with questions and get insights from forum members. As for us, we are not breeders. We get our babies from a private nationwide breeder network - we bring our babies in generally at 6 - 8 weeks of age and take them through the early development process. Take care.
