I currently own an African Grey Parrot. She is named Alyssa and she is just 6 months old from what I was told. I just got her recently, so she is still getting use to her surroundings.
Hello there!

I am Kerberdox or I go either Kerbie or K3 for short. I have always had an interests of birds since I was little, but could not really have one due to where I was living. I was proven wrong, of course. I was given a little yellow Cockatiel as a gift when I was around 7 or 8 and played with it when ever I could. She shared a cage with another Cockatiel, so she was never truly alone. We eventually had to give her up, instead of handing over to some random person. we gave her to the lady who owned the other Cockatiel that shared a home with ours.

Years passed and I had not had a bird since, until I got out of high school and moved out of the country for a while. Well how we got the next one was a little funny. My mother had joked about with my dad about a green little bird. Well Mom and I forget sometimes dad takes things a little too seriously. One day he calls up and said he has a surprise- sure enough when we arrived over there. Sitting in a tree was Mom's new Mealy Amazon. She was about 2 years old, maybe going on 3 at the time. Took awhile of course for her to trust us, but once she did- Louisa (mom kept the name she had) only wanted to be around Mom and I. I mostly cared for her needs due to Mom not physically capable of changing her food, water, etc.So that meaning I had to do a lot of research on how to care for an Amazon. She was an odd lovable bird. Done the oddest things. Shehasa wooden chair she is protective of. Only let's certain people sit in it. Haha~

We currently still have her. My Grandmother is caring for her, while Mom and I are back in the States. Been back two years (Dad went over for business and Lousia- from what I was told thrilled by the sight of him) and it took me a while to save up, but I finally have a bird of my own. she is an African Grey Parrot and she is a feisty little bird. I bought her from this place. She looked healthy from what I can tell and when I went in it was definitely a clean place- just the only concern I had was how she reacted to the two gentleman that held her, while I was there. She has no problem getting on someone's hand, however when they held or petted her she screamed. They asked if I wanted to hold- I tried and she sat there calmly with no problem. She doesn't like to be petted, which is understandable- may take time. It did when we were in that trial period with our Amazon. I think what has happened is they may have been a little too rough or she truly doesn't like to be petted. Dunno. I am not too worried. Well hopefully. She was quiet the whole way home and started playing with her favorite toy ( that they gave us for free). Chirped happily and of course she was active in the evening. She knows to make knocking sounds already and has mimic another sound that we made to her. The gentleman told me she was 6 months (mom thinks she is around a year old) and is already on an early start on talking. I don't know if that is true or not when Greys start to learn talking. I just bought her today and she seems to settle in just fine so far. Give it a few more days, though. Also, she is quite the little piggy when it comes to food. Heh~

Now that my rambling is done. African Greys are new to me, but it is my dream parrot I have always wanted. I want to keep learning about them, so I can properly take care of her.

Um... usually my questions come after the fact, so it may take a bit- before a question pops up.
