He chose me.. NY here!

So, for people who has been in the conure forum knows that I have sorta stumbled in here by accident. I found a conure yesterday outside, and coaxed him to come to me. He instantly did the happy dance that I have now learned that it's called. I thought he was sick at first lol

Im Ev, have my own dog training company, owner of a pitbull and 6 lizards, two being monitor lizards. I love training animals, and even my monitor is target trained, comes when called and walks on leash. He's very social and is the monitor I bring to education reptile days which I tend to do a lot to promote appropriate pet ownership. I had budgies as a small girl and that is most of my experience with parrots. I did research and african greys 10 years back wanting one, but decided that they were too much work for me as I was not home much. After that I didn't look much into it.

However, this guy has won my heart, and if owners aren't stepping up and my new landlord allows it Im keeping him. Otherwise I have a good home lined up for him with a friend of mine.

So mostly I spend my days cleaning and playing with the animals giving them enrichment, training and exercise. Other than that I hike, trail, fish, Im alot out doors and it seems like I bring this little guy with me when weather allows.

Oh and Im originally from Sweden, been in the states for 6.5 years!! and Im 33 years young and crazy..

Just so that you know even if the owners don't claim him cause they didn't see your ad but later found out he is theirs they still can get him back. Your actually supposed to turn him to the pound/animal control. But most people don't. Just thought I let you know.

Hi there Ev, and WELCOME!!

We've got a few things in common. I LOVE bullies, I have 2 of them. An American Bulldog and an AmBull Pit Mix. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my birds.... I'm also an immigrant (from Germany) and last but not least, I AM CRAZY, TOO!!!

Mikey, I did call the local ACC, they don't take birds in, they put me in contact with the people who handle that part (they still took the info though in case someone calls), I spoke to the people who handles bird. I am holding him for 2 weeks, and then if owners don't step forward I can either give him to them or keep him. So all the right legal people have my numbers and contact info. He is not hidden by any means, he is also posted on CL, I brought poster to my local store (he was found close by), Posted on parrot 911, posted on facebook.. I called the avian vet for the area, he may recognize him on Wednesday.. So if they were truly looking for him, there's a big chance he'd been found by now. I spoke to the lady that does the lost and found for the area and she says 95% of the time people dont come looking for them. He is such a sweet bird Im contemplating involving the local news media, cause if someone has put in so much time on him they gotta miss him. Which is why Im surprised that he;s not found yet, but Im not keeping him without doing what is right first. Im not that kind of a person.. Thank you for your welcome

I married a US soldier in 1986, THAT's how I ended up over here. It was love at first sight, and almost 27 years and 2 "kids" later, I have ZERO regrets.

I love this country.

Awww that's adorable.... Mine is less romantic, I pressed quick match on xbox and got married It didnt last though but I don't regret anything either. If you work hard here, you get good pay out!!
