Thought I'd drop an introduction, since I will probably be posting questions every once in awhile! :rainbow1:

I am currently the proud owner of a Green Cheek Conure named Zuko. He is a spunky little guy, who has a true sense of little bird syndrome!

My other bird Coco, is a Ducorps Cockatoo; The biggest cuddler we have ever had, besides when he is in one of his, "moods." He is about a year and a half old, and since he had bought him when he was very cage-bound he is not too keen on stepping up, but truly loves to be pet, and have his wing-pits scratched!

Welcome to the form. I know all about cuddling while on the computer. My RFM Valentino is a shoulder cuddler also my boy likes to "hug" with his wings. He is "hugging" my ear while snuggling here.

I love parrot affection. Look forward to hearing stories about your flock and seeing more pictures.

Welcome to our forum..

Wonderful pics. Why don't you add its owner in pictures.

Haha, Well I'm usually the one taking the pictures so I usually only get the chance when one of them are spending some time with my sister!

Thats precious! Coco just likes to either sit on my shoulder and rest his head against mine, or sit on top of his cage and coo; He's definitively the quietest bird I've ever owned! Nothing like my Green Cheek, he loves to roll onto his back and just kind of lounge up against your hand, sweetest little dude in the world, super jealous though xD

Yes, Avatar! Named him after his, "I will rule over everything," kind of attitude! The top of his tail is a mix of red and green though, mostly red o:

I'm wondering if Zuko might be a maroon bellied conure, or a hybrid of maroon bellied and green cheek... since green cheeks typically don't have green heads!

Whatever he is, he's cute! And that's an awesome reason to give him the name! Love it!

Its always a possibility! I bought him from my local pet store, but the color of his head has gotten darker as time has passed.

I've also read alot about not cuddling your cockatoo too much.. but I don't think I can help it right now, He's basically hugging me. <3

The thing you want to be careful about with cuddling a 'too is accidentally sexually stimulating them. Parrots don't touch each other anywhere other than the head and neck, and maybe upper breast unless they are mates or bonded(on their way to becoming mates)

Just make sure you are very aware of your too's body language, to much excitement you should stop.

Super cute pic

I am aware, and make sure to pay attention to his body language, He is very calm though and I have never seen him become excited while being pet

Very cute pic of your 'too!

And Zuko is a maroon bellied conure, or a maroon bellied x green cheek hybrid!

Here's two pictures (different birds in each image) showing the difference, kind of, between the two species. (the black marks on the green cheeks are not normal, btw!)

If the link works, the bird on the branch in the front is supposedly a hybrid between the two.

I'm guessing Zuko might be a hybrid because his head is darker. Don't know if you want to get in contact with the store/breeder about it, though?
