Hi All,

I adopted a 5 week old male, blue parrotlet named Charlie. I love him so much, but have been racked with fear that something will happen to him. He's so little and besides a couple of buggies when I was a kid, I've no experience with birds.

He's still on formula, but is starting to eat seed, especially mullet. He won't touch any fresh fruits or vegies...Is that normal?

My breeder went on holidays on Saturday for 2 weeks, which is why I got him before he was weaned. I'm terribly worried about him and would appreciate any advice to keeping him healthy.

Thanks

Budgies, not buggies. Millet, not mullet. Auto-correct perhaps?

When feeding fresh foods, try chopping it up into tiny, bite size pieces. Maybe make a mixture of cooked/sprouted grains, some finely chopped vegetables and fruits and mix in a little seeds. This may help him explore the fresh foods better.
