Hello,
I am new here and a new bird owner as well. I have a four year old male eclectus named Henry. He is just a delight to hold and do things with. I love seeing him in my house. He adds much needed joy, delight, and color to my house.

Welcome to the forums!

When you have a chance, post photos of Henry! We all love to see photos of everyone else's babies.

Hi! I am about to move to Hawaii with my 3 birds, dog, husband, and sister! When did you get Henry? What made you decide to get him? I think Hawaii has some good parrot clubs, at least that is what I have been told. I can't wait to be able to go to the meetings, I have never lived anywhere with a parrot club. Welcome to the forum!

Hi Silver Sage,
I think that you will love Hawaii. I do. Please be aware of the pet quarantine requirements that this state has. I wasn't proactive and my cat spent four months in quarantine and cost me more than $1000.

I am glad that you mentioned the parrot clubs. I am a member of the Aloha Hawaii Parrot Association. I've never had birds before and their support and advice helped me to choosing the right species of bird for me and my family. We meet once a month at a local park. Parrots are welcome at the meeting.

Thanks! We are on top of it :) There are even stricter standards for getting birds to the Island than dogs, it is CRAZY! They have recently changed the rabies quarantine procedures so my dog was able to complete his quarantine here on the mainland :D Now for the birds and their West Nile Quarantine!

I was at the meeting two months ago, I missed this months meeting but should get to be at the next one.... I had the 5 month old eclectus named drogo, if you were at that meeting he was the one in the red harness... :D
