Howdy from Texas!

Hello everyone, I've been lurking on this forum a few months now and realized it was probably about time to introduce myself and start being active in this awesome community.

I'm here because what started out as me being a short-term foster home has officially become a permanent adoption lol. A couple I was acquainted with had decided to rehome their Nanday conure due to escalating issues they were having with their neighbors and their apartment complex management from excessive noise. Technically I was only going to be a temporary home while they vetted potential new owners to try and find a good home. Needless to say I fell in love pretty quickly and decided I was both willing as well as capable of making the commitment to providing a permanent/forever home and the best care I possibly could. Since the people who showed interest in adopting either flaked out very early on or clearly weren't really prepared to provide proper care, that made it an even more obvious decision.

So I am now the proud parent of Ezio, a 1-yr old Nanday Conure who is going to be my companion for many, many years. He hasn't been DNA-tested to confirm sex but since he's always been referred to as a boy/male that's what he'll be until proved otherwise lol.

I'm really looking forward to interacting with other owners and enthusiasts on this forum, educating myself more and more, sharing Ezio's and mine experiences and stories, and much more I'm sure!

Hi and welcome. I absolutely love seeing Nandays, those colors are gorgeous! I can't wait to see pics.

Thank you all so very much for the warm welcomes! I'm so excited to have found such a wonderful forum already. His new cage should be arriving on Monday and I can't wait to retire his old one. The assortment of toys I ordered at the same time as the cage got here yesterday and I think he's really going to enjoy the foraging ones in particular. He has been on the Zupreem pellets in the fruit formula and I knew right away I wanted to switch him over to a healthier diet too. After spending quite a bit of time researching all the food options available I ended up ordering a few pounds of the TOPs pellets, a bag of TOPs Napoleon seed mix (along with an Easy Sprouter since I really want to incorporate sprouts into his diet), and a package of Harrison's Bird Bread Original mix from mysafebirdstore.com. That box arrived today and people weren't exaggerating--their customer service really is absolutely awesome! Anyway, since I know what everyone is *really* wanting are pictures so here are the handful that I have on this computer, I hope to get better ones very soon

Ezio is as beautiful as I could have imagined
Nandays are one of my favorite "eye candy" birds, but you don't get the fullest beauty of the colors in photos. It sure sounds like your well prepared to give Ezio a nice life. I think you'll enjoy this forum too. You'll get lots of interesting tips and suggestions also.

Welcome to the forum!!! I had a Nanday years ago, she's still with my best friend as she loves him to pieces. She was a super super smart conure I tell you that much!!!
