Hello from Vancouver

Hi there, I joined this forum a short time ago but didn't have the time to write an introduction until now.

My boyfriend and I have 2 fids currently, one 4yr green cheeked conure named Mr. Johnny Feathers, and a 6 month old hybrid Caique named Princess Annabella. We recently lost our beloved black headed caique Pepper, to her chronic health issues. She was adopted from a home where she was fed poorly and treated very negatively. We know the last 2.5 years with us she was happy at least, and had come so far in behaviour and trust. She was such a joy.

My teenage son also lives with us, and adores the birds, and they adore him which is a nice bonus. These birds are definitely our babies, and we are fortunate to have a great avian vet fairly close.

We have several large cages in our living room, and we just finished turning our balcony into an aviary. I can't wait to fill it with trees and toys for them

I was telling Carol that you had joined and she was so happy to hear more about Princess Annabella and Mr. Feathers
I remember her telling me about what happened with Pepper, and she was so upset, as was I for you and for Pepper. I know what a wonderful life you have her, which she did not have with those first people.f
I also was the one who ended up with your white cage when you moved, I believe my husband met you when he met Carol there to get it! Thank you again for that, it has been a blessing as a temp cage for new rescues we have taken in, and we are going to use it as an outside cage this summer

I'm really glad to be on here, it's nice to have such a caring resource available. We're hoping to add to our little group ( not too many of course) but we want one more conure, and we are looking to adopt a CAG. We're in no rush though, when the bird that needs us pops up we'll be there.

I'll be adding more pictures as I can of course, today we all spent a beautiful sunny afternoon eating strawberries in the screened in balcony aviary and making a fabulous mess.

Where should I post those Terry? I'm not too sure...I added a few photos into an album, and I posted a photo of Mr Feathers napping in the sun while we were outside. I don't want to put them in the wrong spot.

The pics of the aviary could go in the Do It Yourself section, and Mr. Feathers could go in the conure section That way we can all see them
