Hello everyone. I don't have any birds currently at the moment as I have just recently moved across the united states, but I've owned parrots my whole life. As an experienced parrot owner (Senegal, conure, african grey), I'm looking to expand my nest with a Macaw addition. I have a vision of creating a rehab/rescue program for abused pet parrots, as many owners are ignorant or incompetent when it comes to caring for a feathered friend. I'll be a regular visitor to this site in the hopes of meeting others who share a similar passion. Right now I'm researching everything I can on lovely Macaws...preferred habitat, foods, personality, likes and dislikes, training, etc. I'm working full-time to try to save enough to start construction on the proper environment for them. Any help/insight for a parrot enthusiast starting from the bottom up would be welcome :) Also, I'm looking to work with anyone who needs a new home for their Macaw once I have the proper set up. Lovely to meet ya'll!

Hello and Welcome. I hope your recent relocation went smoothly. Do you still have your Senegal, Conure, and African Grey, or are you temporarily separated from them due to the move? I wish you luck with your plans for a sanctuary. Enjoy your macaw research and your mission to find a new flock member.

Thank you :) The Grey and Senegal belonged to my parents (moved out of their house) but I hope to be reunited with the Conure, though probably not for the next year or so unfortunately. In the meantime I'm looking for friendship in a macaw or larger parrot up for adoption once I have the set up. :red1:

Then you can still visit the Senegal and the Grey. I hope you are able to reunite with your conure. We'd love to see pics of all three.

Me and my bud, Squawk (blue crowned conure). Unfortunately don't have pics of the other birds on my computer... I'll try to get others soon.
