Greetings

Hello, I am Rob - Sol's dad. She is about 2 years old, and wicked smart! She's not my first bird, but we just adopted her yesterday. She is just as wicked smart as she is pretty! So I am here gathering as much information as I can, trying to stay a few steps ahead of her. Which is tough!

I can't say I intended to get a conure when I went looking to adopt, but we just happened upon each other and we seemed to click right away. So I guess it was just meant to be. We are just now spending our second day with each other, and she is already quite attached and cuddly. Although I could tell she liked me right away, I am still a bit taken back by how quickly she latched on to me. We have 4 people in our household, but she wants to be near me. Like I said, I guess it was meant to be.

Anyway, thought I'd say hello. I'll post up some questions as they arise. Thanks in advance to everyone for all the great info here.

Hi Rob, welcome to you and Sol. She's a lovely girl, so glad she found her way into your home.

I've always said that we don't adopt our most wonderful feathered companions - they adopt us (or, at least, allow us to share their space!). The bond between people & birds can be truly amazing. I could never consider my feather kids "pets" - that term doesn't do them justice at all.
