Hey everyone!!
I'm Julia, I don't currently have any birds :( I had a cockatiel but sadly he died a couple of months ago RIP Sheldon.
I have been looking ever since for my perfect bird and can't yet decide on a breed.
I have a beautiful 2yo son and am expecting another in may, but our house just isn't complete without the happy voices of birds!
My partner isn't a bird person (yet) ;) but I see how he looks at them when they're around him, he can't keep that hidden love from me :p
One day I'd love to have my own sanctuary full of maccaws and various parakeets but that's a dream for many years time.
I live in sunny QLD of Australia and love it here.
Looking forward to hearing from and about all of you and your wonderful avian family!!

Xox Julia :grey:

Welcome Julia! This is a great place to learn and discover what species might fit best with your family. Can't wait to see what you decide on :)

Hi Julia,

I love the way you talk about your partner. :D My husband is the bird person, not me, and yet here I am with an Eceletus parrot! I guess that persistence pays off eventually. It only took my husband 20 years to convince me... :p

Cheers,

Emma

I think everyone has a little spot in their heart for birds! I was never a big bird person but when I got my cockatiel I have been bird crazy ever since! I have even started a wildlife management course with an opted ornithological study lol
My mother in law is a big bird person, she has galahs, lovebirds, cockatiels, moustache parrots, but her male galah is her baby :) yet my grandmother in law has a phobia of birds! She might take a little more convincing then my partner ;)
