Pineapple Green Cheek Conure
Hello Everyone! My Name is Bert. I hope everyone is doing well! I have put a deposit on a baby yellow sided turquoise green cheek conure and i am so excited to start off! I have not purchased a cage yet so I'm looking for recommendations on a cage. I really want a high quality cage with nice locks on all the doors and food bowls and it has to be big of course. I want one over 24inches up to 40 or more maybe ha ha. That is where the problem starts on the bar spacing. I want a playtop square or rectangle shaped cage but My main problem is that i can't find many big cages with the correct amount of bar spacing that are nice and i don't have anywhere close to go look at cages besides petsmart and petco and none of their cages are set up. Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!! Thanks in advance!!!! I am not a total newbie. I have had birds all of my life and I'm in my late 30s now. I have had a cockateils finches and love birds but this is my first parrot so I will most likely have tons of questions.
Thanks, Bert

Hello Bert, Congratulations and welcome to the forum!

I'll leave it to the GCC owners to recommend a specific cage, but you might find a better selection by shopping online.

Best of luck to you. Looking forward to updates.

Thanks Allee! I have been shopping online and cant find much on there with the correct bar spacing so i would like some recommendations on a good cage especially since i wouldn't be able to put my hands on it if i purchase it online and return shipping is very high.

Welcome! I don't have a conure, but I have found cages on Amazon.com that are fantastic. They require being put together but the price is great and the time spent for a new flock member is great!

Check Craigslist! A lot of trash, but some diamonds! I landed the following cage for 80 bucks! completely clean! Not a scratch or dent!

Try Amazon. Or if you find a cage you like, google reviews for it. In many cases you will find people who have updated the review after years of owning it, and will be honest about how well it held up and what they think could be improved on it. I searched for conure cage on amazon, and got several immediate results that would be worth investigating. Good luck in your search.

I have done all those things but i haven't had any luck on a cage beyond a 32 inch and i would like it to be bigger than 24 inches up to 40. the problem is the bar spacing. I can find tons of cages but lots have to much space for a GCC. thanks for your reply! Any help or advice is appreciated!!!!!!!!!
